    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Lead Program Financial Analyst (LPFA) is the fiscal partner to the program operations of the agency. As the LPFA, your work, from grant contract billing, financial reporting analysis for our programs to identifying new opportunities to streamline internal processes, is used by our leaders to make strategic decisions to support our agency's mission and goals. Working on multiple assignments/projects at a time, the LPFA looks for creative ways to take on big-picture challenges including financial analytics, process improvements and serve as a collaborative business partner to our program teams. The LPFA is a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced accounting professional with a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting practices. The LPFA has high visibility to the agency's leadership team and interacts with a wide range of key stakeholders (Program, Development and Funders). This role reports to the Director of Finance.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Lead or prepare the submission of grant invoices to funders on a timely basis and follow up on outstanding grant payment receivables.
    • Monitor budget categories, spending rates, and time restrictions to ensure all grants are on track to meet budgeted spending requirements. Proactively communicate with program staff when grant expenses are not in line with budget and assist in the preparation of budget revisions as applicable.
    • Responsible for monthly close processes in accordance with GAAP, including but not limited to recognition of unrestricted and/or restricted revenue, indirect costs, shared direct cost allocations, reconciliation of applicable general ledger accounts.
    • Serve as finance business partner to assigned program team(s). Collaborate across finance, program teams, corporate, and leadership to develop short- and long-term budgets and forecasts.
    • Support the Grants Director and program team in the development of contract budgets for proposals and renewals. This includes understanding the Requests for Proposals (RFP) and budget instructions.
    • Responsible for budgeting and recording of in-kind revenue and expenses.
    • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial analysis, e.g. monthly recurring revenue (MRR), AR Aging.
    • Assist with the annual financial audit, Single Audit and other statutory audit(s), including preparing audit schedules and addressing auditor inquiries.
    • Assist in the documentation and update of new or existing accounting policies and procedures.
    • Provide mentorship, coordination, and support of activities with the other PFAs (Program Financial Analysts) on the team.
    • Perform ad-hoc requests as needed.
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an approved related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a complex nonprofit environment.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, particularly as it relates to nonprofit accounting. Experience with fund accounting, contract billing, and restricted funds management.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), including collaborating with finance and program teams while effectively interfacing with external grantors.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently within deadlines.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with ERP systems or other accounting applications (MIP, Adaptive, Concur) and data visualization tools a plus.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Standard use of office equipment, such as laptop or keyboard, computer terminal, telephone, and other office equipment.
    • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Criminal background check via livescan fingerprint
    • Must have TB test performed and submit results (if applicable)
    • Automobile, valid driver's license and auto insurance per agency policy; or have access to reliable transportation
    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Work will be conducted in a shared office environment.
    HOURS AND OTHER CONDITIONS:
    • Standard office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • This is a full-time, exempt position. Some evenings and weekends may be required to meet the demands of the position.
