    Description

    **Job Overview**

    Garden City Hospital, a prime healthcare facility, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join its team on a per diem basis. As an RRT, you will be responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians. The ideal candidate will have excellent assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation skills with consideration of patient age and population-specific needs.

    **Responsibilities:**

    • Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians
    • Assess, plan, implement, and document care with consideration of patient age and population-specific needs
    • In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RRT, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift

    **Requirements:**

    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
    • State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
    • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
    • A minimum of 2 years experience as an RCP preferred
    • ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
    • NRP and PALS certificates preferred
    • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required

    **Estimated Salary Range:** $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
