    The LA Conservation Corps ("the Corps") is a private, non-profit organization that has helped at-risk young adults develop themselves since 1986.

    To date, more than 20,000 young people have participated in the Corps classes and service projects, learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for residents of the greater Los Angeles area.

    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Program Director, the Senior Program Manager is a key contributor to the LA Conservation Corps' success and sustainability by contributing to the accomplishment of the organization's mission, business goals and vision.

    She/he will help establish new and maintain current development resources that will identify and cultivate funding to grow and sustain the organization.

    The primary responsibility of the Senior Program Manager is to ensure the deliverability of programs and services for the purpose of enhancing the development of youth and communities served by the Corps.

    Other job-related duties may be assigned, as needed.

    JOB DUTIES
    Responsible for program deliverables, goals, and outcomes.

    Manages a $3M+ annual budget consisting of fee for service projects, donations, private foundations, corporations, and local, state and government funding.

    Ensures each individual budget within the division budget meets contract and agency goals and spending plan in alignment with fiscal year divisional budgets.

    Determines objectives and goals for the sub-contractors and ensures all sub-contractors meet contract deliverables, within contractual deadlines.
    Oversees contract compliance and program outcomes.
    Monitors, reviews and submits for approval all recommended personnel actions proposed.
    Maintains necessary files and documentation for contractual requirements.
    Plans and attends regular program meetings to ensure that operations and program goals are being met.
    Meets regularly with accountants to ensure invoices along with its back-up documentation meet contract and sponsor expectations.
    Appropriates human and material resources to ensure contract deliverables are completed successfully and within budget.

    Works closely with the Senior Program Director to grow our funding opportunities by pursing and bidding on potential fee for service, local, state and federal projects for both current and upcoming fiscal years.

    Submits weekly, monthly and annual progress reports in a timely manner, which capture program progress accurately throughout the month. Prepares required reports as needed.

    Works and communicates with program sponsors, local community organizations, partners and other public and private agencies to guarantee that scheduled goals are met.

    Maintains a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

    Accomplishes staff and Corpsmember results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

    Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.

    Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

    Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; identifying trends; recommending system improvements.

    Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending City of LA – CFAC meeting, educational workshops and conferences; reviewing publications from the City of LA, Urban Forestry Department (UFD), along with ISA publications; establishing personal networks with other professionals within urban forestry.

    Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed working with peers.
    Executes Program Performance Reviews (PMP) for all division staff on a quarterly and annual basis.
    Executes, maintains, and audits fuel and vehicle logs and ensures subordinates are meeting CHP requirements.

    Works closely with the Senior Management Team in strategic development and meeting the goals and objectives of the organization's Annual Plan.

    Manages program goals and milestones to build leadership and marketable job skills that benefit young adult Corpsmembers, ultimately giving them a variety of opportunities during and after their Corps experience.

    Ensures safe work practices, a safe work environment, and the proper maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and tools.

    Supervises program staff and field staff in the completion of work projects which include but not limited to tree planting and maintenance; sidewalk concrete removal; and tree distributions and deliveries; and tree stock care.

    Develops a consistent workflow for all work crews assigned and prioritize work assignments according to funding deadlines, ultimately meeting all contract deliverables.

    Organizes special projects and community tree plantings as requested by various City of Los Angeles departments, including the Department of Water & Power and other project sponsors.

    Works closely with the Payroll Department, ensuring all entries are properly recorded and any action plans are fully executed.

    Coordinates the maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles, including identifying workaround solutions when equipment and vehicles are out of service.

    Utilizing various platforms such as ArcGIS, Survey123, ensures all data is recorded properly on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

    Tracks monthly invoices and financial data, liaising with project sponsors to ensure data is compiled accurately.
    Working from home is not an option.
    Performs other responsibilities as needed.
