    Established in 1996, NOVA was originally founded to provide Environmental Consulting, Geotechnical Engineering, and Construction Materials Testing and Inspection services to the design and construction community, largely in the southeastern United States.     NOVA Engineering is seeking a CMT Laboratory Technician for our Pensacola, FL office. This person will perform quality assurance/quality control lab testing duties for commercial, retail, educational, low to high-rise, manufacturing, DOT and government construction projects. This is an entry level position.

    Primary duties include:

    • Performing specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and building components such as soil, concrete, and asphalt, per ASTM, ACI, AASHTO etc. standards
    • Maintain detailed records of observations, inspections and test results
    • Communicating with and aiding the manager in lab data processing and report preparation
    • Calibrating and maintaining of laboratory equipment and workspaces
    • Support the construction materials and geotechnical department by assisting with field testing and inspections as needed

    Qualifications:

    • The ability to read specifications
    • Attention to detail
    • Testing, sampling, and inspecting soil experience preferred (0 to 3 years)
    • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
    • Use of MS Office including Excel
    • Valid State Driver's license with clean driving record

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous construction materials lab testing experience
