Description
Job Description Job Description The Welding Quality Inspector is tasked with conducting daily inspections of manufactured products, such as piping and structural steel, ensuring they meet drawings and specifications promptly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform welding inspections on fabricated piping and structural steel.
Verify the dimensions of fabricated piping and structural steel.
Record welding and material traceability details in project documentation.
Review project documentation to confirm material traceability.
Coordinate NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) activities with third-party NDE testing companies.
Conduct welder qualification tests for prospective welding candidates.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to meet project specifications.
Complete internal inspection checklists accurately.
Document product deficiencies clearly and work with production to resolve issues.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma.
Proficiency in MS Office programs.
At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing quality control.
Minimum 3 years of experience in fabrication.
Experience with Bluebeam is advantageous but not mandatory.
Familiarity with NDE methods such as RT (Radiographic Testing) and PT (Penetrant Testing).Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and a systematic approach to tasks.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, handle objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Hand-eye coordination is necessary for operating testing instruments, tools, computers, and office equipment.Work Environment:
While performing job duties, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to excessive noise, extreme temperatures, and heights.
