Sales & Underwriting Analytics

As a Senior Data Scientist at The Hartford, you will play a key role in developing machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions for various strategic initiatives within Personal Lines. You'll work alongside cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize modeling solutions using cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. Collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement are at the core of our organization.

Responsibilities:

Create statistical models, algorithms, and machine learning techniques to drive financial objectives and enhance the customer journey
Collaborate with stakeholders to support the analytics vision and promote a data-driven culture
Lead modeling and machine learning projects, fostering collaboration between Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Performance Analysts
Identify new data sources and analytical techniques to maintain a competitive edge
Contribute to the implementation of strategies to meet business goals
Stay informed on the latest research and tools in the field
Provide statistical support to ensure accuracy in decision-making
Bring best practices to enhance Data Science workflows

Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant experience
Master's or Ph.D. in a related field
Proficiency in statistical modeling and building machine learning algorithms
Experience with SQL, Unix, and Git
Knowledge of end-to-end modeling lifecycle
Experience in cloud-native environments is a plus
Effective communication skills
Ability to translate technical topics into business solutions
Experience in project execution and process improvement

Compensation

The annualized base pay range for this role is between $106,960 and $160,440. Actual compensation may vary based on performance and other competencies. Apart from base pay, The Hartford offers additional rewards such as bonuses, incentives, and recognition programs.
