    JOB SUMMARY:

    Park City is looking for energetic and adventure-seeking role models to serve as Adventure Camp Counselors this summer. The Adventure Camp Counselors represent and maintain the standards of the Recreation Department by conducting and supervising outdoor and adventure activities for youth in a professional and safe manner. If you enjoy working with kids and you want to spend your summer mountain biking, rock climbing, SUP/Kayaking, braving the zipline, traversing the high ropes courses, horseback riding, hiking, and so much morethan this job is definitely for you.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:
    • Supervises and leads youth in a variety of adventure activities ensuring that participants have fun and interact with others in an appropriate manner.
    • Ensures the safety of all children in program activities.
    • Prepares for daily events and leads group activities accordingly.
    • Collects appropriate paperwork, medical release forms, and all vendor waivers.
    • Answers inquiries from parents regarding program procedures and concerns about children.
    • Supervises all activities and provides transportation to and from.
    • Directs proper behavior and settles disputes.
    • Cleans up at the end of day for following days use.
    • Communicates clearly and effectively with the Recreation Coordinator.
    • Ensures that each customer is offered a pleasurable experience through your performance of your specific tasks.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Ability to work well with children, including a high energy level and the ability to supervise groups of high-energy kids.
    • Ability to act quickly and accordingly to emergencies.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Van Driver Certification (or ability to obtain; provided on-site by employer).
    • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification (or ability to obtain; provided on-site by employer).
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Knowledge of various age levels and their specific capabilities.
    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Ability to work in many different places, often in hot environments. (i.e. different locations, outdoors, etc.)
    • Work is performed mainly in outdoor settings, in all weather conditions including temperature extremes, and includes day shifts.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, drive, talk and hear.
    • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle or operate objects or controls.
    • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
