    All Medical Surgical Units atPiedmont Rockdale share the following;

    Bedsideshift report during nurse and pct handoff6:

    Hourly, purposeful rounding usingA.I.D.E.T

    Compliance with our qualityinitiatives

    Multidisciplinary rounding and carecoordination rounding

    Nurse patient ratios of5:
    1 on days and 6:
    1 on nights

    Charge nurse withlimited patient load to facilitate dailyoperations

    No callrequirements

    Self scheduling through SmartSquare


    Medical Surgical 1 (MS1):
    32 beds
    Patient populationconsist of chest pain, CHF, patients requiring hemodialysis, andgeneral medical patients. Nursing competency includes BLS, andstandard medical surgical nursingcare.


    RESPONSIBLE FOR:

    The staff nurse provides nursing care topatients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursingprocesses to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care forpatients.

    He/she functions within the framework of the policies andprocedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growthand accountability.

    The staff nurse is responsible for maintainingstandards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of allassigned staff in the provision of quality nursingcare.

    Qualifications:

    MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:


    Graduate of a nursingprogram

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:


    New Graduates of a nursing programeligible

    MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:


    CurrentLicense in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLCMultistate License. BLS certification required.

    ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:


    Advanced certification in fieldof specialty, if applicable. Bachelor's degree preferred. NursingExperience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
