    Gillette Children's is looking for a casual CT Technologist to work at the main campus in St. Paul, MN.

    This position performs CT exams using independent judgment and initiative, prepares patients for CT exams, administers contrast media, and starts intravenous catheters.

    The CT Tech also functions as a resource for general radiography when needed.

    As a specialty healthcare facility, with ongoing care for both pediatrics and adults, technologists provide quality, age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.

    This is a casual (0.01 FTE) position with general staffing hours 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, with call hours 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekends and holidays.

    This position requires a minimum of 1 scheduled shift per month with additional weekend and holiday call rotation.


    Responsibilities:
    Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standardsActively participates in creating and implementing improvementsPerforms quality patient care in CTOperates imaging equipment accurately and reports all problems to leadership and/or vendor services immediatelyMonitors and maintains established protocols with RadiologistsTrains and advises new employees and students to routine protocols and processesPractices proper safety precautions (ALARA) in the radiology environment and informs patients, staff and visitors according to established guidelinesReviews, organizes, and distributes patient paperwork and images to the Radiologist and appropriate provider

    QualificationsRequired :
    RT (R)

    CertificationCurrent BLS certificationARRT-CT certification OR must successfully complete within 18 months of hireGraduate of an accredited school or equivalent certificationPreferred:

    CT experienceExperience working with pediatricsDemonstrated skill in the area of leadership and interpersonal communications as it relates to patients families, co-workers, medical staff, and others.

    Demonstrated active involvement in professional organizations, quality and safety improvement, or research.
    Excellent customer service skills.
