    Summary

    Per Sé Group is seeking a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer – Hydropower for one of our premier clients whose focus is on reframing hydropower as a climate technology to accelerate America's energy transition to a clean, thriving economy.

    You will be responsible for working closely with the team's engineering disciplines (architectural, civil/structural, hydrotechnical, mechanical and electrical) to support the site investigations, geotechnical engineering and civil layout of new and existing hydropower facilities.

    This position will perform site investigation and sample and site testing supervision, engineering analyses, prepare concepts and details, and direct preparation of design drawings in 2D and 3D environments utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit.


    Responsibilities:
    Support the civil and geotechnical design for new and existing hydraulic structures and hydropower facilities, including: Temporary structures (cofferdams, soil and rock supports, etc.)Permanent cut slopes in soils and rockGeotechnical inputs for design of permanent structures

    Prepare design concepts and details for drawings in 2D and 3D environments such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.

    Prepare design deliverables (engineering calculations, analysis, technical reports, technical specifications, civil and geotechnical drawings, quantity take-offs, etc.) in accordance with industry standards.

    Support in planning of Geotechnical and geological investigations programs, including evaluation of results.
    Supervise, monitor site investigations, prepare reports, daily progress reports, borehole logs, and other geotechnical work products and documents.
    Support in the preparation and coordination of civil/structural/geotechnical design packages as well as assisting with procurement and bill of material (BOM) development


    Preferred Skills & ExpertiseBS or MS in civil/geotechnical engineering from an accredited university with willingness to become a registered PE or Registration as an Engineer in Training and working to become a Professional Civil Engineer.2+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and design of foundations and retaining structures or hydropower structures.

    Exposure to related Codes, Norms, Standards and guidelines, including ACI, AISC, USACE, etc.
    Experienced with design 2-D and 3-D analytical software Demonstrated experience in the design and layout of geotechnical aspects related to structural systems considering the following: Constructability execution; Maintenance and operation considerations; Safety by designOperate with autonomy and have initiative while also working as part of a team
