    Network Analyst IIDepartment: Information Technology

    Reports To:

    Supervisor Information TechnologyPOSITION SUMMARY The primary goal of the Network Analyst II is to ensure LAN/WAN continuing functionality and maintain computing equipment.

    They are responsible for the engineering; configuration, installation, and administration of the LAN networks include network switches.

    They will support and troubleshoot network problems; work with third party providers; assist in the selection and evaluation of products and vendors; and handle day-to-day administration of TTCs networks.

    They also act at the primary source of customer support for computer workstations, printers, and other devices connected to the LAN/WAN, providing timely maintenance, parts and information.

    SALARY RANGE$30 - $36.

    Mental and Physical Requirements:
    Travel may be involved including air travel. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.

    CATEGORIES OF DUTIES Troubleshoot, repair and upgrade all local area networks and wiring closetsEstablish proper technical documentation and troubleshooting procedures and maintain database for network configurationMaintain the awareness of key technologies to ensure optimal use of resourcesMaintain awareness and knowledge of industry/vendor technology and trends in order to ensure optimal use and value of the LAN/WAN resourcesPlan and design new and/or expansion/upgrade projects and oversee installation to meet the districts requirementsAnalyze all wiring closets, on a regular basis, to keep the networksMaintain databases for network configurationsDesign networks and oversee installationAssist in installing wiring for networksResearch and consult new purchasesDiagnose and facilitate the repair of non-warranty technologyFacilitate the deployment and configuration of personal computersInstall operating systems, email accounts, IP addresses, web browser installation, local workstation network configuration and software configurationAccompany installing vendors technician during on-site warrantee service when necessary and when possible limiting the amount of time for out source consultants costsAttends all Information Technology Department MeetingsParticipates in long and short range technology planningMaintains documentation regarding network configuration, operating procedures, and service records relating to network hardware and softwarePrepare work product documentation, checklists, training materials and standards documents to ensure a high-quality of service delivery and maximize efficiency and effectivenessThoroughly document problems and steps to resolve them, to maximize institutionalization of knowledge.

    Develop technical standards documents and implementation procedures for new technologies.
    Thoroughly test all work, and involve the client in acceptance testing to ensure their needs are met.

    Through thorough testing, ensure that client systems are fully functional and meet the clients business needsRecords time spent on each request, task and project step in IT Service Request Log.

    Implements plans and projects in a timely and efficient way.

    Follow procedures to deliver services in an organized, effective manner to ensure customers perceive Information Technology to be thorough, well-prepared and punctual.

    Take ownership of issues and show professionalism and control.
    Experience in technical project management and demonstrated ability to take a project through all phases of implementation as well as post-implementation follow-upEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Minimum Qualifications:
    CCNA or higherEducation: High School DiplomaExperience: 4+ years of progressive LAN/WAN troubleshooting experience. Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency is required.
