- Drive and operate commercial vehicles and equipment; combination tractor/trailer, box trucks, forklifts (cargo van and flatbed).
- Routinely load/unload/secure/transport hazardous and non-hazardous environmental waste in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho with one or two one-night overnight trips per months.
- Handle/move 55 gallon and other sized containers of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal wastes by physical and mechanical means (forklift, dolly, lifting).
- Perform routine daily vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs to trucks in-line with personal capabilities.
- Inspect containers/cargo for DOT/EPA compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Help maintain and keep equipment in good operating condition and appearance.
- Clean spills if they occur.
- General warehouse operations while not on-the-road (be a part of the team).
- Follow safety program requirements as priority one; always acting in a safe manner.
- Provide excellent customer service and client relations.
- Abide by company drug-free policy including recreational marijuana.
- Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement and a clean driving record.
- Experience transporting or working with hazardous waste a plus.
- Ability to operate a combination truck/trailer with a manual transmission (Kenworth T-680/cargo van, flatbed).
- Ability to work 40 hours per week minimum (with some overtime).
- Able to move drums and containers (hazardous/non-hazardous/universal waste).
- Some general Mechanical knowledge preferred.
- Possess or obtain a 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Possess or obtain an 80-hour DOT (will pay for if needed).
- Able to interact with clients in a positive and professional manner.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and participate in random drug-test pool.
- Ability to pass a government background check for federal installation access.
- Pass initial and routine occupational and DOT physicals.
- Have a positive attitude, Integrity, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job.

Job DescriptionDescription:Environmental Compliance Consultants inc. (ECC) offers an exciting opportunity to pursue or continue a career in environmental and industrial services as a class A commercial Truckdriver/Environmental Technician at our Portland, Oregon facility. This is a regional employee driving position for transportation and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in Oregon and Washington with occasional runs to Idaho. Most runs will be out and back same day with one or two per month requiring an overnight stay (home every weekend). Drivers must be able to load and unload trailers, as well as perform minor Technician responsibilities when not on the road.
