    Job DescriptionRight at Home of Washington DC is seeking for a full-time Registered Nurse whose goal is to ensure clients receive the highest quality care in accordance with Company standards.

    Responsible for planning and coordinating home care services for new clients, performing various supervisory activities for supervision of the direct care staff.

    All client visits take place throughout Washington, DC.JOB SUMMARYResponsible for client care in accordance with all Agency procedures manuals, laws and relevant professional standards.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSRecords clients' medical histories and symptoms, including observations, health promotion recommendations, and methods of disease preventionHelps to establish task plans for clientsMust be knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing Home Support Agencies.

    Observes, records and reports pertinent information (i.e., signs, symptoms, reactions, behavior) client, client representative and/or client family member.
    Encourages client to participate in prescribed therapies, dietary regime, and activity programs.
    Knows and is able to carry out approved emergency procedures.
    Reports changes of condition to client, client representative and/or client family member.
    Provides for comfort, emotional care and support of clients.
    Communicates client's condition to appropriate persons.
    Accountable to provide continuity and priority of client care.
    Provide current information in transferring residents to hospital or other care setting.
    Evaluates and strives to improve client care.
    Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Ensures suitable environments for clients by giving attention to cleanliness, ventilation, lighting and furniture arrangements.
    Must be able to follow emergency, fire, and safety procedures.
    Has current CPR certification.

    Follows proper infection control and universal precautions such as:
    Ensuring that a sanitary environment is maintained at all times.
    Practicing proper handwashing procedures.
    Practicing proper linen handling procedures.
    ADDITIONAL DUTIESProfessionalismDisplays professionalism and integrity by adhering to Agency's policies and procedures.
    Must promote Agency in a positive way.
    Must maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to clients, facility operations, and personnel.
    Must understand and follow Agency policies including harassment and complaint procedures.
    Must maintain good personal hygiene (neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance).Must adhere to dress code.
    Must practice dependable, regular attendance.
    Must not work under the influence of mood-altering or illegal drugs or alcohol.
    Customer ServiceMust demonstrate the ability to communicate well with family, clients, staff, and management.
    Must be able to communicate with medical staff, nursing personnel, and other departments.
    Must maintain a professional attitude and establish constructive working relationships with co-workers, clients, families, visitors, and general public.
    Must promote teamwork in providing services to clients.
    Client RightsEnsures that client's rights are protected and well-respected.
    Understands role as a mandated reporter of suspected dependent adult/elder abuse and to report such incidents.
    Must maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to clients and personnel.

    Demonstrates a positive disposition when entering a client's home and is willing to adjust schedule to meet the individual expectations or requests of the clients.

    Working Conditions/EnvironmentWorks both in office and in client's homes as required for home visits and supervisory visits.
