Shannon Construction, one of the 10 best General Contractors in Pittsburgh, is looking for a construction project engineer to join our construction project team. .This position is responsible for assisting the project manager with on site project support from pre-construction, construction, and post construction phases for our growing Construction Management group.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Related Field, required.
• 1+ years of experience or participant in a accredited university Co-Op program or other related experience, strongly preferred.
• Computer Skills; proficient in MS office, required. Experience with Procore & Scheduling software preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate professionally to all levels
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to read, comprehend and explain construction plans and specs.

What you will do:

• Support Project Manager on all pre-construction activities such as review of bid documents, existing site conditions, construction schedule.
• Working with all project documentation in partnership with project team, architects and engineers, and on-site contractors.
• Working closely with prime contractors on the day-to-day operations of construction sites.
• Participates in on-site meetings taking notes for clients on project schedule, safety and quality of work.
• Schedule and manage 3rd party safety inspections, and audit contractor safety procedures..
• Work with Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure client costs, construction quality, and construction schedule met client requirements.
