    **OVERVIEW**

    NuCO2, is the only national provider of beverage grade CO2 certified using ISBT guidelines and draught beer grade nitrogen gas solutions to the restaurant and hospitality industry.

    **JOB SUMMARY**

    In this role, the District Safety Manager is the champion of embedding a safety culture into the daily operations of the assigned district. This role is responsible for the management and execution of programs and procedures to ensure safety and compliance to governmental, Linde, and NuCO2 standards. This role also ensures depots in their assigned district comply and follow safety policy procedures through assessments, driver ride observations, follow observations, and on-site safety observations.

    **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

    Lead Safety Management activities to include: ensuring Emergency Response Plans are current, management of the Safety Award Program, conducting monthly safety inspections and KPI report out for the District, manage Tier II, Haz Mat Recertification, FDA, Driver Recertification, and NuCO2 / OSHA Certification programs, maintain DOT Accident Register and be the SME on OSHA / local Fire Dept regulations

    Lead and participate in Safety First field meetings to drive business process improvements

    Analyze or evaluate new and existing jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards. Includes yearly job hazard analysis.

    Provide Field Training to support and assist in new hire training to include Driver NESO (New Employee Safety Orientation), Technician training & Supervisor training related to Haz Mat Recertification, NuCO2 / OSHA Safety Skill Set Qualifications Testing and Driver Recertification

    Develop guidelines for and oversees implementation of safe and standard work practices compliant with DOT / OSHA / FSMA / and EPA regulatory requirements.

    Complete both protocol and operation assessments, develop action items against non-conformances and measure completion of action items.

    Conduct accident/incident investigations, reporting and facilitation of root cause analysis and related prevention methods.

    Investigate, develop, and report out any high severe event to corporate executives, regulatory agencies, and internal executive team.

    Complete and maintain essential OSHA site / sound surveys and maintain piping and instrument drawings for each depot in assigned district.

    Manage Safety Event Folders to include periodic audit of event folders for completion and accuracy, periodic audit of Accident / Incident Reports / DOT Inspections for accuracy and report out as needed, Act as liaison between HR and Safety for document requests

    + Manage Quality Control functions to include conducting monthly meetings, coordinating, conducting and reporting out of QC Monthly Meetings, managing the Mock Call Process, ensuring the mock call process is completed, accurate, and reported out; coordinating and ensuring field QC process is completed, accurate, and report out, managing quality of product concerns and ensuring coordination with appropriate departments is completed.

    Provide analytical support to districts in the form of maintaining a monthly dashboard of the districts KPIs and assist with any forecasting for the district with trend analysis.

    Manage safety SOP process to include developing and managing priority list for new and edits to existing safety SOPs, maintaining safety SOP site, coordinating and conducting executive and safety SOP committee meetings, assisting in the development of new safety SOPs and managing the document control process

    Manage OSHA / DOT / FDA required annual compliance items such as but not limited to PID drawings, noise and sound surveys, lighting surveys, EN33 unsafe atmosphere surveys, and emergency response plan drills.

    **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**

    Ability to comprehend communications from regulatory agencies, enforcement agencies, and corporate management

    Ability to create correspondences and communications to various levels of management

    Ability to create data spreadsheets, analyzes these to determine trending. Then create and implement programs, policies, etc. to reverse negative trending and encourage positive trending

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    Able to work well with levels of the organization from field level to senior management.

    Strong working knowledge of DOT / OSHA / FDA regulations

    Ability to manage confrontational situations.

    Skilled in interacting with various departments within the headquarters including but not limited to; Human Resources, Sales, Call Center, Fleet, and Executives and all levels of the field operations.

    Skilled in interacting with customers, contractors, and general public.

    Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.

    **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

    **Education**

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

    **Experience:**

    Minimum 3 years of experience in CO2 beverage systems.

    Demonstration of safety performance where areas of responsibility maintained an accident rate below 1.00 and a recordable injury rate of below 1.00 for 3 years.

    **Other:**

    **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

    **Education:**

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health

    Certification/Licensure/registrations (As applicable based on region and other requirements):

    DOT Compliance Certification

    OSHA 10 Hour and 30 Hour Certification

    Smith System Driver Trainer Certification

    Food Safety Management PCQI Certification

    **Experience:**

    Minimum 2 years experience in data gathering, analyzing, and reporting.

    Minimum 2 years experience in accident / injury scene investigations, root cause analysis, report out of findings.

    Minimum 2 years experience with onsite DOT, OSHA, and FDA inspections.

    Minimum 2 years experience with EPA and Hazardous Waste Spills

    Minimum 2 years experience as a lead auditor or assessor.

    Preferred no personal PPVA last 3 years

    Preferred no personal RII last 3 years

    **Certification/Licensure/Registrations**

    CDL Minimum Class B

    HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements
