    Company Background:

    Our client (the "Company") is a leading services provider of innovative funeral and cemetery services. With a high percentage of end-of-life services focused on cremation and differentiated digital capabilities spanning direct-to-consumer, e-commerce, digital marketing, and online pre-need services, the Company has created operational efficiencies at scale versus traditional burial focused players. Our client operates in multiple attractive markets across the US. Backed by well-known PE investors, they are seeking a highly experienced CFO to provide leadership for the finance and accounting team.

    Role Overview:

    The CFO will be a strategic partner to the CEO, engaging directly in the formulation and execution of the company's growth strategy. In this role, the CFO will be responsible for building and sustaining a high performing accounting and finance function that enables growth through optimal financial execution and utilization of capital. The CFO will oversee accounting, finance, FP&A and capital markets activities of the company.

    Key Responsibilities

    The CFO will build and maintain a scalable accounting and finance function, establish or enhance critical processes, recruit and hire high quality talent and collaborate with other leaders to execute the company's strategy.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Build and scale a high-quality team that delivers excellence in accounting and finance policies, practices and processes
    • Establish operationally excellent and compliant accounting processes
    • Establish and sustain a financial infrastructure that delivers data, KPIs and insights to enable managers to effectively run and expand the business
    • Maintain and drive focus on cash flow management
    • Establish and drive long-term financial plans and annual budgets that align leaders and focus activity
    • Ensure timely, accurate and insightful performance reporting for the company, its private equity sponsor, lenders, and Board of Directors
    • Establish and manage effective forecasting and capital planning processes that adapt to change in markets, opportunities, and performance
    • Establish and maintain an efficient and effective capital structure including exploring various sources of public or private financing and attractive structures that match the company's stage of grow
    • Deliver analyses and insights that enable the company to continuously improve cost efficiency, profitability, and achievement of goals
    • Maintain effective banking, vendor, and other relationships (e.g., advisors) that support the companies near-term and longer-term needs
    • Implement financial discipline across the organization including cash forecasting and management, expense management, business case development (for requested initiatives) and performance management
    • Directly support and enable the company's M&A efforts

    Professional Qualifications

    • Proven track record of operational success as a CFO and senior leader of a growing business (>$500MM Revenue)
    • Multi-unit, multi-geography experience in a consumer services or healthcare services industry
    • Multiple years of experience as a CFO with responsibility for overseeing accounting, FP&A, treasury, and capital markets
    • Strong expertise in capital planning and capital markets – raising equity and debt, divesting assets, etc.
    • Outstanding knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, compliance and external reporting
    • Successful track record enabling acquisitions and effective integration of acquired businesses
    • Public company experience is a plus
    • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
    • Demonstrated ability to lead with confidence and executive presence
    • Significant experience working with external auditors and other 3rd parties (e.g., bankers, consultants, vendors, etc.)

    Education and/or Competencies

    • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance
    • CPA required
    • MBA is strongly preferred
    • Experience successfully leading the strategy and operations functions of a multi-location organization
    • Blend of professional experience with strategy, digital sales and marketing, M&A and operations preferred
    • Proficient in utilizing data analytics and benchmarking systems to effectively oversee and stimulate growth across various locations and markets
    • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
    • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
    • Prior experience working with a private equity investor (preferred)
