Operations Specialist, Trading - Folsom, United States - Newport Group
Description
Newport Group is has a great opportunity for an Operations Specialist in the Trading group. This employee is responsible for participating in the daily trading and fund change processes within Operations.Qualified candidates should be highly organized with a strong attention to detail and have the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of accuracy.
The Operations Specialist will participate in the daily trade submission/monitoring process and in a rotation of nightly monitoring of price files imports, releasing of trades, and problem resolution (typically once per week).S/he will complete daily share reconciliation reports for multiple custodians.
The successful candidatewill monitor negative balances, troubleshoot daily trade rejects and settlement issues. S/he will analyze inefficiencies within the team and suggest potential solutions. As well as assess risk in daily operations and escalate when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
2-3 years of related experience in qualified retirement plan environment, or related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to train and assess the work of others.
Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail and solid prioritization skills.
Excellent client services and interpersonal skills.
Solid analytical, financial, time management and problem resolution skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of accuracy.
Must be focused and driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Relius and/or DST systems a plus but not required
Successful completion of ASPPA or NIPA examinations/credentials a plus
