- Sweeps, dusts, arranges furniture, empties trash and pencil sharpeners, cleans chalkboards and sets up for activities.
- Washes walls, woodwork and windows, and cleans and polishes metal surfaces. Cleans and maintains hard and soft surface floors.
- Wet mops and spot clean hard and soft surface floors.
- Cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes restrooms, locker rooms, and drinking fountains.
- Scrub and wax floors manually or by machine
- Haul trash
- Vacuum all carpeted areas.
- Performs minor repair maintenance. Operates heating, A/C, ventilation, electrical and mechanical systems. Operations will be limited to turning equipment on/off and/or setting day/night cycles.
- Take necessary action to prevent the occurrence of emergencies by repairing, or reporting broken windows, doors and locks, and by reporting unsafe conditions
- Assists in the maintenance of lawns, landscaping, concrete and blacktop surfaces and playgrounds, including pedestrian walkways snow and ice removal.
- Assists with set ups and tears down for school activities such as sporting events, concerts and other meetings or special events.
- Operates security systems and secures building at the conclusion of shift along with ensure building is secure by locking windows and doors.
- Treat all users of buildings in a polite and courteous manner
- Move furniture and other heavy moving and lifting
- Estimate needs and requisitions for supplies and equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must maintain safe maintenance practices and adhere to safety requirements.
- Good physical health including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing and walking.
- Repetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingers.
- Frequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting and stooping.
- Occasional climbing and crawling.
- Standing for long periods of time as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing.
