    SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

    Internal job title - CHP Systems O&M Technician
    This role will support the Maintenance manager, and team, with respect to the operation and maintenance of the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Systems of the Facility. The goal of the position is to improve uptime of the engine and completely utilize Biogas produced at the plant.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the CHP engine/generator systems and all associated CHP equipment (such as Selective Catalytic Reducer System).
    • Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality.
    • Maintain and repair Co-Generators, pumps, blowers, piping, and valves.
    • Follow all safety SOPs and support in fabrication of temporary lines, pipes, patchwork, weld/grinding or cutting work on site.
    • Responsible for diagnosing malfunctions of CHP System machinery and equipment
    • Identify spare parts, and consumables procurement need and prepare requisition for approval.
    • Manages and conducts safety training in accordance with OSHA requirements for the CHP system.
    • Support the training and mentoring new hires and team members.

    WHAT YOU BRING:

    Education and/or Experience

    • Knowledge and experience with power generation and or CHP equipment are a must
    • At least 4 years of relevant experience
    • Relevant post-secondary education and/or trades certification and/or significant industrial training in a relevant technical field required

    Technical & Leadership Skills

    • Strong competence of gaseous fueled reciprocating engines, 24VDC controls, and medium to high voltage electrical generation equipment
    • Proficient in PLC & Controls / Switch Gears Onsite or remote troubleshooting and repair of natural gas and biogas reciprocating piston engines
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems
    • Experience with Preventative Maintenance schedules, routine field inspections, site walks, maintenance work requisitions on CMMS
    • Ability to motivate, engage and manage a team to achieve goals and deliver results
