The
Engineering Manager
is responsible for, at the direction of the Director of Engineering, maintaining product quality and condition throughout the Resort(s).
Also, administrating preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and guest rooms to prolong the lifespan of equipment and physical property.
Managing the department's day-to-day responsibilities, theEngineering Manager
leads a team of technicians ensuring high-quality, productive work while establishing an environment leading to high levels of guest and employee satisfaction.
Engineering Manager
works alongside the Director of Engineering overseeing capital and departmental budgets.
Summary of Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Manage and organize the activities of the engineering department to ensure a consistent level of product quality throughout the Resort(s)
Conduct frequent and regular property walks of interior and exterior, proactively identifying and correcting defects
Implement HotSOS work order system for tracking of all mechanical equipment, preventative maintenance schedules and ensure all equipment PM's are completed as recommended.
Review monthly profit and loss statement for the department and prepare action plans for improvement as necessary. Assist with capital plans, projects and budgets
Ensure a positive work environment for all Hosts and high levels of associate engagement and job satisfaction
Supervise, train, and evaluate engineering department Hosts
Manage contractor/vendor work and contracts; negotiate contracts for property facilities operations
Ensure high level of customer service at all touch points, exceeding brand standards and Guest expectations resulting in customer loyalty, referrals and repeat business
Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring of staff
Assists Director of Engineering with safety and security efforts for all areas of responsibility
Develop, implement and monitor department schedules to meet customer demand while achieving productivity goals
Work closely with all direct reports on all issues related to departmental operations
Hold regularly scheduled meetings with the facilities team to review past and future performance of service, quality and general information concerning Guest and employee relations
Monitor day-to-day operations in area of responsibility to ensure excellent customer service.
Respond positively and promptly to inquiries from a variety of departments, Guests and other sources

Required Experience
Advanced knowledge of maintenance/facilities/engineering best practices, skills, and techniques.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years job-related experience with a proven track record of success.
Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.
Knowledge of pool operations strongly preferred and ability to obtain an AFO certification.
HVAC or Electrician certification strongly preferred but not required.
Previous hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
Must successfully pass background and drug tests.
Intermediate computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
