What You'll Do in This Position

SRNS is seeking to hire a Sr Engineering Technical Support Specialist who can provide senior level analysis, expertise, and support to SRNS operations to resolve broad technical issues having division and/or site wide implications. Specific support provided will differ according to assignment, but will generally include directing, planning, developing, implementing, and administering technical operations maintenance related programs. These functions will typically be in direct support of a specific facility (or facilities), location, or functional area.

Develop engineering specifications and designs for process, operations, calibration, material and test equipment, installed or portable process instrumentation, or functional area systems. Develop, review, and implement operating and calibration procedures and standards. Plan and implement process and design changes for new and existing processes, systems and equipment. Maintain inventory of fixed and portable testing equipment. Prioritize projects and programs to reflect shifting DOE priorities. Prioritize and plan technical support programs to achieve division goals. Develop performance indicators to persuade senior management of projected program and equipment changes. Oversee installation of new equipment, major equipment modifications, and various other major equipment issues which support processes, calibration, measuring, or site operations. Conduct technical reviews of proposed operations, calibration, or measuring equipment modifications. Provide technical support to operations and maintenance technicians and other personnel as requested. Acts as advisor to less qualified technical support specialists to meet schedules and or resolve technical issues. May develop and administer budgets, schedules, and performance requirements.

The major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Ensure proper classification and subsequent protection of documents, computer systems, and other nuclear related items of importance to national security. Originated or controlled by SRNS and subcontract organizations prior to release of such items for widespread distribution and public release.
* Respond to requests for technical support and provide guidance and oversight to field organizations to ensure proper use of classification guidance.
* Provide technical support and interpretative guidance for DC/ROs and answer questions from other site personnel.
* Interface with SRNS Classification Office staff as needed to respond to requests, assist in the development of classification and UCNI guidance, answer scientific and technical questions, and enforce requirements.
* Brief all levels of management on classification issues and classification requirements for sensitive technologies and processes.
* Ensure compliance with DOE orders and manuals, federal regulations, and company policies/procedures.
Assist higher level technicians as requested.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. Qualifications We Require

High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential

Other Qualifications

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance with Weapons Data access.
Experience with nuclear processing facilities, nuclear weapons facilities, or security disciplines at DOE or DOD facility.
Working knowledge of scientific and technical requirements for nuclear material processing and weapons programs are required, including extensive knowledge base of regulatory and export control requirements.

Qualifications We Desire

College degree in an Engineering discipline, cybersecurity, security, or computer science
Experience with nuclear materials handling/processing
Experience as a DOE Derivative Classifier
Certification as a DOE-HQ Authorized Derivative Classifier (ADC) and Authorized Derivative Declassifier (ADD) and UCNI Reviewing Official
