    SBH Health System, is a 400+ Acute Care Hospital in central Bronx, New York. As an academic system, SBH is affiliated with the CUNY School of Medicine and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, supporting 3 FQHC primary care centers, 3 faculty practice sites, and an on-campus Ambulatory Care Center.

    The Division of Infection Control Epidemiology at SBH Health System/St. Barnabas Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, is seeking an Infection Preventionist. The Infection Preventionist will be responsible for the daily operations of the Infection Control Epidemiology program. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with established standards of Infection Control Epidemiology procedures on a hospital-wide basis. Candidate will also Institute control measures during outbreak or other emergency situations and report communicable disease to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the New York State Department of Health as required.

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Must be licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in the State of New York
    • A B.S. in Nursing or Public Health is required, or another relevant health related field, is highly recommended and will be considered.
    • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred
    • Certification (CIC) or actively working toward certification by the Certification Board of Infection Control of Infection Control Epidemiology Inc. within 2 years of hire is preferred.
    • Experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing is preferred.
