    Job Details:
    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Tribal Law Attorney to join our dynamic legal team.

    This is a unique opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment, where you will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation on a variety of complex matters related to Tribal Law.

    As a Tribal Law Attorney, you will be expected to have thorough knowledge and understanding of Indian law, federal Indian policy, and tribal government operations.

    This role demands a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to work under pressure.


    Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive legal advice and representation to tribal governments and their entities on a wide range of legal issues, including governance, economic development, housing, education, and healthcare.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to tribal affairs.
    • Represent tribal clients in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and negotiations.
    • Advise tribal clients on the development and implementation of tribal codes, ordinances, and regulations.
    • Conduct legal research and analysis on various aspects of tribal law, federal Indian law, and other relevant legal areas.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with tribal clients, ensuring their legal needs are effectively met.
    • Stay current with developments in tribal law, federal Indian law, and related legal areas.

    Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Admission to the state bar and ability to gain admission to tribal court bars.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on tribal law and federal Indian law.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indian law, federal Indian policy, and tribal government operations.
    • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
    • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to resolve complex legal issues.
    • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
    • High level of professional integrity and ethical standards.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong commitment to serving tribal communities and advancing their legal rights and interests.
