    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Are you passionate about the game of soccer and want to stay involved in the game? Become a soccer referee for our YMCA that participates in our local recreational soccer league, the Kettle Moraine Soccer League. This is a seasonal position for Fall and Spring. Games are mainly on Saturday's and referees would have 1-3 games each Saturday. We offer age levels U7-U10 and referees are paid per game with pay scale dependent on the game age level. Under the direction of the Youth Sports Director, the Soccer Referee is responsible for overseeing all assigned games.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Arrive to the field 15 minutes before the start of the game
    2. Inspect the game location and equipment for safety reason before the start of the game
    3. Set up for games; clean up after games
    4. Go over rules and expectations with coaches and players
    5. Answer any questions before the start of the game
    6. Inform spectators of where to reside for the duration of games
    7. Enforce game rules
    8. Report game scores; any problems, concerns, or complaints to the Youth Sports Director
    9. Maintain safety of program participants
    10. Perform other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Must be at least 18 years of age
    2. KMSL certification is required (YMCA pays for certification)
    3. Knowledge of the game of soccer
    4. Able to handle high pressure situations
    5. Experience with a diverse population
    6. Strong communication and team working skills
    7. Being able to control games in a professional manner

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    1. Must have the ability to lift 40 lbs
    2. Must have the ability to jog with players for the duration of the game
