    Intermediate-level Project Engineer | Buildings and Structural Engineering

    Job Description:


    This position involves working alongside engineers and architects as part of a design team applying structural engineering principles toward the successful design of low to mid-rise commercial and residential building projects.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide direction to structural engineers, and support staff

    Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs

    Perform field investigations/site visits, as needed

    Independently apply knowledge of structural principles and practices

    Prepare engineering calculations with the aid of computer software

    Coordinate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines

    Design and review complete project documents

    Qualifications:

    A minimum of 6 + years in civil/structural engineering required

    PE license strongly desired

    Proven experience in commercial, technology, educational, and municipal type building projects

    Possess a basic skill level in Revit desired

    Demonstrate extensive knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and practices in steel, concrete, and masonry

    Ability to effectively perform as a key team member and role model

    Advanced oral/written communication skills

    Possess a basic understanding of structural engineering software such as RISA, RAM, TEKLA, TEDDS, etc.

    Must be able to perform as a Project Engineer with limited guidance as well as collaborate with multiple members of the design team

    Education:

    Bachelors degree in civil structural engineering with a structural emphasis

    Masters degree desired but not required
