    About the Position and the Company: As a Mechanical Principal Engineer at Southland Industries in the Mountain West Division, you will oversee the design process for various projects. A key aspect of this role involves cultivating and managing client relationships. The ideal candidate will excel in leadership and development, overseeing a team of engineers to meet project objectives.



    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure adherence to engineering standards
    • Act as the Mechanical Engineering expert for the division, offering support to other departments
    • Manage conceptual design for projects
    • Conduct site inspections and resolve design issues
    • Provide technical expertise at project meetings
    • Collaborate with clients and peer groups
    • Facilitate innovation and continuous improvement throughout projects
    • Lead a team of engineers, focusing on their development


    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
    • Licensed Mechanical or Architectural PE
    • 15-25 years of design engineering experience, with a preference for large-scale projects in critical sectors
    • 8+ years of management experience
    • Extensive knowledge of systems design and engineering principles
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders
    • Established network of client relationships
    • Excellent leadership and public speaking abilities
    • Proficiency in CADD and Microsoft Office Products
