    Description

    THE POSITION

    Are you experienced in the psychology field and looking for a challenging opportunity to utilize your skills and education? The Department of Corrections at State Correctional Institution (SCI) Somerset is on the hunt for a highly motivated Licensed Psychologist Manager to join their dynamic psychology department.

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Licensed Psychologist Manager at the Department of Corrections, your role involves planning, organizing, and directing the psychological services program for SCI Somerset. You will coordinate the program with other disciplines, develop new policies and procedures, and chair the population Psychiatric Review Team. Additionally, you will be involved in suicide prevention efforts, collaborate with medical staff, and conduct psychological testing and evaluation of inmates.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
    • Work hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday (30-minute lunch break)
    • Eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55
    • Starting salary may be non-negotiable in certain cases

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist; or
    • One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental health conditions

    Special Requirement:

    • Must possess a valid license to practice psychology issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or another state with equivalent licensure requirements

    Other Requirements:

    • PA residency requirement currently waived
    • Must be able to perform essential job functions

    Legal Requirements:

    • Must pass a background investigation
