Amadeus Payment is an engineering division of approx.

300 people serving all the customer units:
Airlines, hotel chain, Travel Channels.

Indeed, this unit is at the cornerstone of flows of money between Airlines, Travel Agencies and Passengers using Amadeus system

Amadeus Payment is a very dynamic organisation of talented R&D engineers and is in constant growth in terms of people and revenues.

PAY division has teams in five locations Nice, Bangalore, Dallas, Madrid and London and has hundreds of customers using its products from airlines to airports through travel agencies.

We process millions of payments every day through credit card networks, acquiring banks or alternative methods of payment providers (e.g. PayPal) and provide a complete ecosystem of payment solutions. We are looking for tactical opportunities while investing on the long term for developing new businesses on this evolving market, thanks to a close collaboration and work hand in hand with our BU

We, in the Payment Gateway department, are Engineering managers, Software Development Engineers, Product Definition Analysts and Quality Engineers who provide end to end payment solutions that help Airline and hotel chain to ease their payment flow with an open and agnostic platform.

Our goal is to ensure that the payment products deliveries correspond to the customer requests and match high quality standards.

As you see, the customer is at the heart of what we do.

With this role you will evolve in our PAY Gateway organisation , composed of a SAFE train of 100+ people contributing to enhance the portfolio of products serving the merchants (eXchange Payment Portal, Fraud and 3DS, MCP/DCC products , Payment Checkout, Payments APIs...).

About the role:
You will integrate as Engineering manager of 2 scrum teams in charge of Payment development for different Amadeus Trains.

One scrum team being responsible of the integration of payment data in PNR distribution world and working closely with Distribution Train, the second scrum very customer facing in charge of Payment development for our SWA customer.

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for these 2 scrum teams , you will:
Lead and develop your team, foster team spirit and promote innovation

Support all team members, playing a key part in their career growth

Support the Agile Release Train by working closely with the other managers and train amigos

Lead the recruitment

Share and explain the company vision to the team

Set Goals and objectives and review with team members


Common accountabilities:

• Manages a team of Staff employees and has accountability for their performance and results. Sets performance objectives, conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions.
• Defines a vision for the team in line with the department strategy and operational challenges and translates it into a concrete action plan. Works with a high level of autonomy, with some guidance from Senior Manager.
• Acts as a reference across multiple areas, anticipating solutions to complex problems.
• Optimizes efficiency based on knowledge and experience with the policies, procedures and business plan.

• Define and share the technical/functional team roadmap and vision according to the

department/division/company

objectives

• Report on team activities
• Be accountable for the performance and results of a unit within own discipline or function
• Develop plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
• Suggest alternatives / improvements / new techniques in processes, flows, operational models and plans
• Moderate budgetary impact on business

Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receive guidance from senior manager

Technical excellence

• Timely manage the investigation and resolution of production support issues and customer inquiries
• Collaborate with other software development, architecture, solutions, and QA teams to ensure that software systems are designed for testability, stability, scalability, and performance.

Communication
Ensure timely and appropriate communication to team members regarding company/organization information.

About the ideal candidate:
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience

Experience with SAFe

Previous experience as an Engineering Manager is ideal
