    We have an excellent opportunity for Unit Managers, Nursing Supervisors and/or Resident Care Coordinators with a current Registered Nurse license from Pennsylvania; a professional who has experience in long term care and nursing management as well as the proven ability to pull together a nursing team focused and dedicated to providing excellent care and services in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.

    This position uses both administrative leadership and clinical expertise to assure comprehensive care and treatment is rendered to the resident/patient population. Position responsibilities include:

    Collaborates with the Director of Nursing in maintaining adequate nursing coverage to provide safe nursing care; effectively utilizes existing staff limiting use of overtime and agency personnel.

    Audits every new admission/readmission within 24 hours for appropriate transcription of orders and ensures initial plan of care was developed by admitting nurse. Visits all new admissions to determine overall satisfaction and accommodation of needs.

    Provides consultation in developing and implementing discharge plans in collaboration with the resident/patient, family and interdisciplinary team.

    Develops, implements and evaluates protocols/standards of assigned unit while following the proper approval channels. Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement activities for the facility and/or unit as requested.

    Conducts period meetings on all shifts with staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team to communicate information, develop unit protocols, establish unit goals, initiate implementation and evaluate effectiveness of these processes.

    Attends clinical and interdisciplinary meetings as requested. Assumes nursing administrative responsibilities of the facility for weekend and holiday coverage as requested.

    Provides professional guidance, supervision and encouragement to licensed and certified staff.

    Demonstrates, teaches and evaluates nursing skills of staff utilized in direct resident/patient care. Identifies educational needs of the staff and collaborates with the Director of Education to address needs. Implements progressive discipline when necessary based on corporate and/or clinical policies.

    Assists staff nurses with daily functions and routines such as assessments, physician notification, documentation, med pass, treatments, etc. as needed

    Position requirements include:

    Excellent leadership and management skills as well as interpersonal and communication skills.

    2+ years of managing a skilled nursing unit or nursing team in a long term care or rehabilitation facility.

    Proficiency using PointClickCare or similar healthcare information system as well as Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook and Word.

    A current Registered Nurse license from Pennsylvania.

    BSN is a plus.
