Description

McKinney Products, an ASSA ABLOY company, is looking for a studen summer intern to join our team in Berlin, CT.

This is an excellent opportunity for a rising Junior or Senior in an Engineering (Manufaturing, Mechanical or Industrial) major to work hands-on in a busy manufacturing environment.

The student intern will work with the Operations Manager, Manufacturing Engineer and Production team to drive continuous improvement projects, while gaining invaluable experience relevant to your studies.

This is a first-shift, paid position, working on-stie at our facility in Berlin, CT. We offer an air conditioned shop, an on-site cafeteria, onsite fitness and game rooms, and more.

Responsibilities:
Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
Assist Manufacturing team to meet quality and quantity objectives.
Participate in efficiency improvement projects by applying Lean Principles.
Work with Manufacturing to write Standard Operating Procedures
Assist in lean manufacturing initiatives.
Collaborate with internal/external customers and vendors.

Qualifications:
Engineering/Manufacturing degree (or equivalent) in progress.
Able to work in assembly operations, metal machining, and tool design experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Solid Works.
Able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Teamwork and collaboration skills.
