    Summary of Position
    This position reports to the Director of the Institute on Disability. The role provides daily administrative support, is responsible for coordination of all aspects of the director's schedule, provides assistance to ensure the director's priorities are met, IOD organizational goals are achieved, and best practices are upheld. This position provides visible support and coordination for IOD related grants, contracts, and relationships on behalf of the director. This role also completes administrative coordination duties on behalf of the IOD's associate director, including calendar and travel management. The ideal candidate will be extremely well organized, detail oriented, discreet, have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, and problem-solving abilities.

    Work location for this position is Durham with occasional travel to Concord. This position may be eligible for hybrid work, with frequently required travel to UNH locations. Valid Driver's license or ability to travel to multiple work locations as assigned.

    1. High school graduation and seven years of related experience involving duties of increasing responsibility requiring discretion and independent judgement, or associates degree and five years of related experience, or a combination of higher education and related experience equal to seven years.
    2. Advanced computer skills, including complex word processing, email, spreadsheets, database management, use of search engines, keyboarding skills, and other software applications as required by hiring department.
    3. Effective written and oral communication skills.
    4. Supervisory skills.
    5. Experience in public and employee facing relations, grant funded programs, marketing and telecommunications or publications as specified by department.
    6. Organizational skills with attention to priority setting.

    Duties / Responsibilities



    Job Duties

    Duty/Responsibility
    • Provide overall coordination of the Director's schedule including regular meetings to review meeting requests, preparation of materials, and outreach within IOD, CHHS, UNH and external partners.


    Duty/Responsibility
    • Provide administrative assistance, such as writing and editing e-mails, drafting documents, and preparing communications on the director's behalf.


    Duty/Responsibility
    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff (IOD and within UNH), state and national partners and other stakeholders.


    Duty/Responsibility
    • Draft organization related reports, and other documents such as reports to the Dean, AUCD, and other UCED related documents.
    • Conduct research and compile data/statistics for reports, charts, and graphs.


    Duty/Responsibility
    • Manage the Director's & Associate Director's calendar, including making appointments (via teams, zoom etc.) and prioritizing the most sensitive matters.


    Duty/Responsibility
    • Manage, coordinate, and arrange the Director's & Associate Director's travel and travel-related activities including hotel booking and air and ground transportation.
    • Hold a P-card and maintain accurate P Card documentation and reporting and utilize U-Shop for purchases as needed.

    • Maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials, and exercise discretion when interfacing with faculty, staff, and UNH HR.

    • Create and prepare documents, such as grant proposal sections, agendas, presentations, grant and non-grant reports, correspondence, track and follow up on identified "to do" tasks by using Microsoft Office and/or other required software.
