This role offers a unique opportunity to join the Special Operations Group (SOG) as a Senior Prison Officer, where you will be responsible for leading teams in providing armed emergency response and security support services for correctional facilities within the State.

About the Role:

The Senior Prison Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the SOG, including the custody of offenders and duty of care to prisoners and staff. Responsibilities include managing staff and resources, demonstrating expertise in the Prison Officer role, and leading staff development and performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities also involve planning, coordinating, and supervising SOG operations, as well as taking command during critical incidents.

Additionally, the Senior Prison Officer serves as a role model for prison officers, promotes staff development, and collaborates with internal and external agencies on operational matters.
