Job DetailsJob LocationSeattle Office 071, Seattle, WASalary Range$ $30.00 HourlyDescriptionChristensen Dispatchers are responsible for routing internal and external customer deliveries while validating driver work flow, delivery windows, and cost structures.
All activities are done in accordance with DOT hours of service regulations, and in compliance with efficiency standards and safety regulations.
Significant Activities and Deliverables:
Maintain fuel inventory for all company-owned Ameristar fuel locations and provide backup for the Account Managers keep-fill sitesTake customer orders, ensuring excellent customer service is maintained when the Account Managers are unavailableUnderstand and manage allocation distribution and requestsFollow daily market changes to capture the best priceMonitor the Keep Truckin system in order to track trucks and hours of servicePlan the logistics to meet the scheduled maintenance on trucks and trailersUtilize independent judgment to assign drivers to trucks and routes to maximize operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability, all while adhering to safety requirementsExercise discretion while managing schedule changes due to driver absences, business changes, and/or vehicle maintenanceAdjust assignments and routes as needed, communicating changes to appropriate stakeholdersReport any service failures to the Logistics Manager with an incident report and send communication to the Stakeholders affectedServe as primary point of contact for drivers and troubleshoot concernsManage and escalate onsite emergencies reported by drivers to the appropriate parties in compliance with company, environmental, health, safety and security guidelinesLog and report emergency delivery detailsReview and analyze previous day deliveries to all customers to ensure routes were adhered to and efficiency levels were met or exceededRemain flexible to schedule needs, including covering extra shifts when other team members are out on vacation or sickFacilitate on-call shifts when scheduled and maintain driver routes accuratelyCollaborate with the Account Managers to accomplish the Wholesale Fuel Customer Value PropositionCollaborate with the Account Managers to increase transaction level profitabilityParticipate in frequent 1:1s with the Logistics ManagerParticipate in Team Huddles in an engaging fashion understanding KPIs and scorecard performanceComplete a Performance Planner that supports the Common Carrier Business Units annual goalsOther duties as assignedLeadership and
Team Reach:
This position requires coordination with many Christensen team members, as well as out side parties such as customers, vendors and suppliers.
While this position does not directly manage others, Dispatchers are expected to lead by example, and consistently deliver a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Involves sitting, standing, walking, reading, decision making, reaching above shoulder level, occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 poundsRequires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in person, in writing, and by telephone and email.
