    Job DescriptionSummary

    Graphite One (Alaska) Inc. is seasonal housekeepers to support exploration activities at our Graphite Creek Project in western Alaska.

    Graphite One is seeking Nome resident candidates for part-time housekeeping positions at its Nome Camp and full-time employees to work rotational shifts at its Graphite Creek Camp.

    Residents of Nome, AK may travel to and from the work site daily. Residents from surrounding villages will be provided with airfare to Nome and room and board at Graphite One's Nome Camp.

    All Graphite One (Alaska) Inc camps, including the Nome Camp, are drug and alcohol-free facilities. Graphite One has a zero-tolerance policy for the possession of or job performance under the influence of any drug, including marijuana, or alcohol.

    The position will report to our Project Manager and will take direction from our contracted Camp Managers.

    The position is anticipated to last from early-June to late September depending on weather. conditions.

    Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities

    Successful candidates will complete the following duties in the camp sleeping areas, restrooms, and common areas:

    • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize various surfaces including bathrooms and showers
    • Sweep and mop floors
    • Trash removal
    • Change bedding
    • Wash, dry, and fold bedding and towels
    • Organize cleaning products
    Work Schedule

    Part time positions at the Nome Camp will be approximately 4 hours per day, 5 days per week Residents of Nome are preferred. Meals will be provided during the work shift.

    The full-time positions at our Graphite Creek Camp will work 12 hours per day on a 20 day on / 10 days off rotation. Work shifts may be split with an extended break mid-day. Room and board at our Graphite Creek Camp will be provided. Air transportation between the employee's home city and Nome will be provided for non-Nome residents.

    Safety
    • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed.
    • Inspect the workplace for housekeeping and safety issues
    • Evaluate risks and exercise stop work authority until risks are mitigated
    • Complete Job Hazard Assessments for all work tasks
    • Comply with all site safety policies and procedures
    • Participate in daily toolbox / safety meetings
    Qualifications
    • No previous experience required
    • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions
    • Willingness to ask questions and get clarification from supervisors
    • Willingness to alert supervisors to errors and participate in resolving them
    • Ability to complete repetitive tasks while standing
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively throughout the day
    • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
    • Ability to work cooperatively with other employees, contractors, and consultants
    • Eligible to work in the United States

    Graphite One (Alaska) Inc. maintains a drug free workplace including marijuana and its derivitives. Certain activities related to this position are reimburseable by a US Department of Defense grant. Despite the legality of marijuana and its derivitives in Alaska, they remain federally illegal and therefor fall under our zero tolerance policy.
