Scope of Position:

Duties and Responsibilities:
(Candidates must perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodations.)

Review and analyze state agency financial reports to ensure accuracy of data and information is reported according to accepted accounting practices.

Consolidate and present information in financial reports and analyze for conformance with GAAP and budgetary/legal basis requirements.

Compare agency reports with prior year's reports and research differences.

Review, reconcile, and verify the accuracy of transactions, accounts, records, and statements; Create correcting documents or communicate with state agencies to correct errors, resolve specific accounting issues, and reconcile differences.

Using information provided by state government agencies to compile information for fund reconciliations and participate in the preparation and publication of the state's financial reports for the Budgetary/Legal Basis Annual Report, Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and other financial reports.

Prepare and update written procedures.

Participate in team discussions and training activities, and become adept at identifying agencies and funds that meet all financial reporting criteria for state agencies,

Review draft accounting and reporting pronouncements that impact reporting requirements.

Desirable Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new tasks.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Initiative, tact, and diplomacy.

Exceptional work ethic.
