    Scope of Position:

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    (Candidates must perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodations.)

  • Review and analyze state agency financial reports to ensure accuracy of data and information is reported according to accepted accounting practices.
  • Consolidate and present information in financial reports and analyze for conformance with GAAP and budgetary/legal basis requirements.
  • Compare agency reports with prior year's reports and research differences.
  • Review, reconcile, and verify the accuracy of transactions, accounts, records, and statements; Create correcting documents or communicate with state agencies to correct errors, resolve specific accounting issues, and reconcile differences.
  • Using information provided by state government agencies to compile information for fund reconciliations and participate in the preparation and publication of the state's financial reports for the Budgetary/Legal Basis Annual Report, Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and other financial reports.
  • Prepare and update written procedures.
  • Participate in team discussions and training activities, and become adept at identifying agencies and funds that meet all financial reporting criteria for state agencies,
  • Review draft accounting and reporting pronouncements that impact reporting requirements.
  • Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Initiative, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Exceptional work ethic.
