    Description


    Responsibilities / TasksWe are looking for a QHSE Specialist who will be responsible for overseeing health, safety, and environmental compliance at a GEA North America site.

    This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization.

    This person should be missionally driven and thrive in the following areas:
    Understand health, safety, and environmental requirements at a local, state, and federal level.

    Applies risk management and engineering principles to drive risk reduction efforts and compliance activities This includes providing technical support, completing/facilitating comprehensive risk assessments, and leading or participating in HSE incident investigations.

    Participation in HSE audits, audit program management and tracking/closure of audit action items.
    Build and maintain a collaborative working relationship with leadership.

    This includes coaching and mentoring site personnel by promote engineering control concepts and design, policy and program development, and related activities.

    Ability to track and communicate HSE metrics such as safety key performance indicators, results of audits, and compliance costs.

    Connect with the hearts and minds of people in fostering a proactive safety culture driven by engagement programs, training, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization locally and globally.

    Manage Worker's Compensation programs in line with company policy.
    Your Profile / QualificationsBachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    Certification in relevant HSE disciplines (e.g., CSP, GSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
    Proficiency in incident investigation techniques, including root cause analysis methodologies.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

    Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to GEA North America sites.
    Experience with ISO 45001:2018Experience managing/leading and implementing occupational safety & health programs (injury reduction, trending, strategic planning, etc.)

    Demonstrated experience working on cross-functional teams as well as leading HSE related projectsOther Skills:

    Use of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to sit for up to 8 hours per day and operate a computer keyboard with sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Well-developed problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills.
    Assertive self-starter.
    Detail oriented.
    Strong organization skills.
