    AECOM Water is currently seeking a Civil Engineer to be located in our Tucson, AZ office.

    Under the supervision of senior engineers,


    Contribute to the civil design of flood control, mining, and closure projects such as leach stockpiles, evaporation ponds, tailing facilities, flood control dams, and CCR closures.

    Regional workshare projects provide opportunity for diverse projects, professional growth, and networking through the company.


    Generate conceptual layouts/designs and perform calculations/analyses for channels, culverts, headwalls, detention ponds, operating ponds, spillways, rock drains, check dams, and haulage/access/circulation roads.

    Designs incorporate erosion control, geosynthetics, and piping and pump systems.

    Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS software), quantity/cost estimates, and alternative assessments.


    Prepare drafts of portions of technical proposals, reports, regulatory agency permits, as well as less complex external and internal documents.

    Integrate civil design with results from geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and electrical designs.

    Develop tangible engineering design skills through periodic field experience. This may include construction support (verification of design implementation, adherence to quality, contractor/owner engagement), site inspections, and geotechnical investigations. Also provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions.

    Create engineering drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

    Participate in client meetings.

    Demonstrate ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues.

    Execute assignments with a critical eye while applying standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
