    Overview


    CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Quality Engineer – Data & Test Automation position for our client.

    Location: Jersey City, NJ

    Duration: 10 months

    Responsibilities

    • Lead quality engineering efforts for data platforms, ETL, and batch processing solutions.
    • Perform hands-on data testing and validation using Python/Spark and SQL.
    • Design and execute automated test strategies leveraging model-based test design and the IGNITE platform.
    • Analyze large datasets, validate transformations, and produce clear, actionable test reports.
    • Mentor and guide QA team members, promoting best practices and consistent quality standards.
    • Use metrics, analytics, and continuous improvement techniques to reduce defects and improve time to market.
    • Collaborate closely with engineering, data, and product teams across the project lifecycle.

    Required Skills

    • Strong hands-on experience testing data engineering stacks.
    • Expertise in data testing with the ability to lead QA efforts.
    • Proficiency in Python/Spark and SQL for ETL and batch testing.
    • Experience with Athena, Jupyter Notebooks, and file-based data systems.
    • AWS experience, including S3 and EC2.

    Nice to Have

    • Databricks, Delta tables, and Unity Catalog exposure.
    • UI testing experience.
    • Knowledge of machine learning models and testing model outputs/performance.

    Experience & Education

    • 7+ years of Quality Engineering or test automation experience, with a strong data focus.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

    The expected base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $155,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
