Job Description

As a Security Officer - Roving Foot Patrol in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related issues, and support access control and incident response. You will communicate clearly with employees, visitors, and your team while delivering a customer-focused experience. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.

Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site contacts and/or public responders when appropriate.

Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Control access for employees, contractors, and visitors using site protocols, verifying identification and/or authorization prior to granting entry.

Complete shift activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate pertinent information to oncoming personnel and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

Loss prevention experience is preferred.

X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Customer service experience is preferred.

Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
