Job summary
FWI is building a team to administer, maintain, secure and accredit the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network which provides the IT environment for 100% of DLIFLC teaching and instruction for all students staff faculty and guests This position will serve as the Government's senior network architect and Extreme Networks specialist bridging network infrastructure design performance optimization strategic planning to maintain reliable voice data and wireless services The Network Engineer V will lead network planning problem identification optimize Extreme Network hardware software reduce latency enhance scalability provide knowledge transfer to IT staff ensure military language training community receives high-performance resilient network infrastructure that supports their mission-critical educational operations FWI has been recognized as Top Workplace by Washington Post in 2024 and 2025 offering excellent growth opportunities in collaborative environment Position is contingent upon contract award Work Schedule Location On-Site full-time on-site position work Monday through Friday 745am to 445pm at Presidio of Monterey Monterey CA
Responsibilities
- Serve Senior Network Architect for network design infrastructure updates Act Project Manager high-priority projects using Extreme devices Perform tuning proactive maintenance Extreme equipment Serve onsite contact support product escalations with Extreme Networks Conduct assessments traffic analysis capacity planning future growth Design topology streamline data flow reduce latency enhance scalability ensure redundancy Develop release planning documentation Provide knowledge technical training IT staff on infrastructure May be required travel CONUS OCONUS
