    The Distributed Systems Group (DSG) is focused on designing, testing, and applying edge solutions to enhance the resiliency and efficiency of our Nation's infrastructure and of distributed sites that rely on that infrastructure, while paving the way for integrating large numbers of devices into a holistic energy system.

    Responsibilities DSG is looking for a Project Manager to support a range of grid-related research.

    The position will focus on complex problems related to distributed energy resources, grid planning, vehicle-to-grid integration, and interconnection among others.

    Management of these projects will require knowledge and oversight of asset and grid-scale modeling, data analysis, research in regulatory and utility practice, stakeholder and sponsor engagement, and other features.

    Responsibilities of this position may include (but are not limited to): + Provide effective leadership and direction of small to mid-sized, complex projects that draw on resources across the Lab.

    + Build and lead interdisciplinary project teams.

    + Oversee laboratory research projects on grid modernization, electrification, renewable energy integration, and distributed energy resources, with grid modeling and analysis as core elements.

    + Partner with research staff, relationship managers, and project management office directors on proposal development, including definition of scope, schedule, budget, and risk assessment.

    + Maintain knowledge competency in project management principals and industry best practices. + Collaborate with a broad network of experts across other national labs, academia, industry, and technical societies.

    The successful candidate will be accountable to the Distributed Systems Group Leader and the Team Leader for general staff performance and development, operational discipline (e.g., maintaining training qualifications, procedural compliance, safe operations), and project execution and will work with project management office directors, principal investigators, and other project/program managers to ensure delivery of project work on time and within budget.
