Job Opportunity – General Surgery Med-Surg RN – North Carolina

Start Date: February 26, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Day or night shift available; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; patient ratios 1:6 (days) or 1:7 (nights)

Highlights:

44-bed general surgery unit in an award-winning, Magnet-designated facility recognized as a top 1% hospital nationally
Primary patient populations include urology and general surgery; diverse procedures including colostomies, urostomies, wound vacs, and post-op care
Comprehensive equipment experience: telemetry monitoring, PCA pumps, TPN, tube feeds, Baxter IV systems, and various surgical drains
EMR system: Cerner
Collaborative staffing model with dedicated charge nurses, CNAs, and unit secretaries on every shift
Opportunity to work in a Level II trauma center and regional referral hospital serving the community with specialized care

Requirements:

Current RN license in North Carolina (or eligibility)
BLS certification required
Telemetry competency required
Ability to manage 6–7 patients per shift in a fast-paced environment
Experience with urology and bowel/general surgery patient populations strongly preferred
Proficiency with post-surgical care, drainage systems, ostomy care, and IV therapies preferred
