Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Trumbull Kitchen specifications, focusing on modern American cuisine and signature dishes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times
- Follow recipes, portion sizes, and plating standards to ensure consistency and quality
- Assist with daily prep tasks, including chopping, prepping sauces, and organizing ingredients
- Ensure proper rotation and storage of ingredients to maintain freshness and minimize waste
- Work closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and fellow cooks to ensure smooth and timely service
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused kitchen environment that fosters growth and respect
What We're Looking For
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Line/Grill Cook REQUIRED (2–3 years strongly preferred)
- Experience working in an upscale-casual or fine-dining kitchen, particularly in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work across multiple stations, including grill, sauté, and prep
- Familiarity with high-volume kitchen environments and the ability to execute dishes quickly and consistently
Skills & Qualities:
- Strong knife skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow recipes, plating standards, and prep instructions precisely
- A passion for high-quality food and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience
- Ability to stay organized and maintain cleanliness in a busy kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Team-oriented, with a focus on collaboration and professionalism in the kitchen
