Job summary

Under the direction of the Radiology Director and Manager produces quality diagnostic medical radiographs to ensure proper diagnosis and quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the skills to produce quality radiographs.
• Produces quality images by using appropriate exposure technique to ensure proper penetration of the area being radio graphed.
• Demonstrates the proper use of metal markers and or placement of markers electronically.
• Use the Kodak CR Imaging System to produce quality films and perform the items listed below:
• Know the procedure for starting up and shutting down the CR system.
• Utilize the menu selection functions on the touch screen.
• Navigate the different information screens and ensure that the correct patient and procedure are selected for exposure.
• Reprint exams as needed.
• Load cassettes properly.
• Clean cassettes as needed.
• Load the laser printer correctly with film.
• Trouble shoot problems and /or know how to call for support.
• Knows location of OR, ACU, and Recovery.
• Communicates technical information in a manner appropriate for the intended person (patient, co-worker etc.).
• Responds to changes in the workload using time to departmental advantage.
• Observes established departmental policies, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in approved Radiology Technology program.
• Actively performing clinical rotation assigned by school.
