    Second Baptist School University-Model (SBSUM) is seeking a full-time campus-level


    ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
    for the school year.

    JOB SUMMARY.

    The SBSUM Cypress director of athletics is a member of the campus leadership team.

    He/she plays a pivotal role in furthering the mission of SBSUM by promoting the school's core values and portrait of a graduate distinctives.

    The campus director of athletics works with a team of coaches to provide athletic opportunities for students in middle and upper school.

    The SBSUM athletic program also provides intramural opportunities for lower school students.

    This role is responsible for the development, management and review of the campus community relations and promoting responsive and creative thinking in a partnership between school and home.

    RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES


    Work with the school leadership, under the direction of the dean of athletics, to ensure all campus athletic programs are aligned with and support the mission of Second Baptist School.


    Work within the hiring practices of SBS and SBSUM to assist in recruiting and hiring highly qualified teachers and coaches.

    Oversee campus pre-kindergarten through grade 12 athletic opportunities.

    Ensure a Christian perspective to all aspects of athletic programming and school environments.

    Follow and uphold all policies and procedures for SBSUM athletic programs.

    Execute athletic events that are excellent and encompass high levels of hospitality toward opponents and officials.

    Oversee the operations of the campus athletic department, including scheduling, transportation, equipment inventory, uniform inventory and facility management.

    Collaborate to ensure athletic communications are organized, accurate and efficient.

    Manage a yearly budget including ordering equipment, uniforms and supplies.

    Develop and maintain records of all SBSUM teams and programs including awards received.

    Develop an end-of-year athletic summary for supervisor review.

    Implement a process or program to develop each coach spiritually, professionally and personally.

    Network with other schools, community groups, professional organizations, sporting bodies, associations, etc. to provide unique opportunities for excellence and learning.

    Contribute to campus-level strategic planning and decision-making.

    Perform other duties as assigned, including the possibility of teaching classes.

    Utilize problem-solving skills to develop reasonable solutions to navigate complex problems and systems; have capacity to analyze results to improve outcomes.

    Demonstrate a track record of excellence in work habits with strong organizational and multitasking skills.

    Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills to provide clear guidance, instructions or information.

    Use technology with confidence and ease and have a working knowledge of Google Suite (i.e. Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).


    Be a responsible steward of the school's resources and exhibit a personal commitment to support the school's fundraising efforts as able.


    JOB QUALIFICATIONS
    Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; a master's degree preferred.

    Have prior experience in Christian education and athletic administration; experience in classical and/or University-Model schools preferred.

    Have prior experience in coaching and/or significant playing experience.

    Candidates must possess a collaborative and creative growth mindset.

    Participating in professional development opportunities throughout the year, networking with like-minded peers outside of Second Baptist School, and focusing on accomplishing goals is essential.

    Ideal candidates should have at least three or more years of coaching and athletic administration experience.

    An advanced degree, independent school teaching, and prior knowledge of Second Baptist Church and School are considered a plus.
