ASC Medical Biller and Coder – Interventional Radiology & Multi-Specialty
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: 3+ Years ASC / Surgical Billing
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Medical Biller and coder with strong expertise in Interventional Radiology (IR) and Multi-Specialty procedural billing. This position plays a critical role in optimizing revenue cycle performance, reducing accounts receivable (AR), and ensuring accurate, compliant claim submission and reimbursement.
The ideal candidate understands the complexity of IR coding and billing, including global periods, modifiers, device-intensive procedures, NCCI edits, and payer-specific ASC reimbursement rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage facility claims for ASC procedures
- Review operative reports to ensure accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding alignment
- Apply appropriate modifiers (26, TC, 59, X modifiers, 50, 51, 52, 76, 77, 78, 79, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with CMS, commercial payer, and ASC fee schedule regulations
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and leadership to resolve billing discrepancies
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of ASC billing experience (required)
- Direct experience billing with Interventional Radiology procedures
- Experience in multi-specialty surgical billing (vascular, pain management, orthopedics, general surgery, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of:
- CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding
- NCCI edits and bundling rules
- Global surgical packages
- Device-intensive procedures
- CMS ASC payment methodologies
- Experience with Eclinical Works and Imagine EMR/EHR systems
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- CPC, CPB, or equivalent certification
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Knowledge of IR-specific procedures such as embolization, venous ablation, thrombectomy, kyphoplasty, vascular interventions, and port placements
