Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate would be an individual who has obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/Education.
It is preferred that the candidate have experience with CLASS and be CLASS reliable or at least have a willingness to become CLASS reliable.
The preferred candidate will also have experience in working in or with Head Start or Early Head Start programs.There is travel required with this position. Some travel may be overnight.

Summary
The Department of Human Services (DHS) Program Administrator is responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and evaluating service and grant programs. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Functions
Supervises a subordinate staff by developing short and long term goals and objectives, determining the allocation of internal and external resources, advising staff seeking guidance, and overseeing the functions of program activities to ensure fulfillment of the organization's mission and objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of grant writing techniques and administration. Knowledge of the principles and practices of organizational management. Knowledge of programs and services administered to aid children and families. Ability to conduct inspections to determine compliance with laws, standards and regulations. Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information. Ability to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services.
Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in general business, sociology, psychology, or a related field; plus four years of experience in social services, organizational management, or a related area, including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
