    A national provider of technical services to the electric utility, power generation, industrial, renewable and energy industries client is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer in Houston

    Primary Focus:

    Work on engineering projects, particularly transmission line design involving civil and electrical aspects, from 34.5kV to 500kV, and with fundamental principles related to line design within this specialization. Potential job titles include Design Engineer II, Engineer, Project Engineer, or Senior Project Engineer based on experience and field knowledge.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create efficient designs for high voltage electrical transmission lines
    • Represent the Engineering department in cross-departmental meetings
    • Participate in meetings with customers to aid the Sales department and engineers
    • Oversee team progress to ensure projects stay on track, within budget, and surpass customer expectations
    • Independently handle transmission line engineering tasks
    • Balance work process innovation with standardization
    • Individuals at Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer levels will guarantee project quality and schedule adherence
    • Occasional out-of-town travel as needed
    • Perform other duties as necessary

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Proficiency and practical experience in transmission line design; candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in transmission line design for senior positions necessitating 10 years or more of hands-on design work. Must be a licensed professional engineer or obtain licensure in multiple states within a year of hiring.

    • Minimum 3 years of hands-on design work related to transmission line design
    • Experience in developing cost-effective designs in an EPC setting
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of transmission engineering, including routing matters, conductor selection, structure determination, and plan development, among others
    • Familiarity with substation structures, foundations, and site development issues
    • Proficiency in engineering software, specifically tools like PLS-CADD
    • Understanding of engineering standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI, and ANSI related to transmission design
    • Thorough comprehension of design documents and drawings required for project completion
