    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

    1. Recruitment. Manage a recruitment territory. Plan and schedule visits to high schools, attend college nights, and college fairs. Recruit and counsel prospective students on admissions policies and procedures. Represent the university and academic programs at events. Answer questions and reach out to students through phone calls, emails, and text messaging.

    2. Host Campus Visits. Give information session presentations to both small and large groups.Meet with prospective students as part of their campus visit. Answer questions from students and family members at different stages of the recruitment cycle.

    3. Admissions Programming. Coordinate at least one of the following program areas for the admissions department: WSU Student Ambassadors, Organized Group Visits, and/or Admissions Events. This includes developing, planning, and managing programs in partnership with other Admissions staff as well as other stakeholders from across campus.

    4. Perform Other Duties as Assigned. Including but not limited to remaining current in new trends and technologies used in the recruitment of students, assisting other university departments with recruitment related events, serving as a liaison with other campus departments, review of admission appeals, and participation in department policy and procedure development and implementation.

    Working Conditions

    • Overnight Travel required.
    • Occasional evening and weekend event attendance is necessary.
    Physical Effort
    • Must be able to load, unload, carry and set up bulky recruitment materials to remote locations.
    Required Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 1 year of experience working in college admissions, student affairs, student services, or related experience OR 1 year of extensive involvement related to Admissions, Student Activities or Athletics as a student while pursuing a bachelor's degree.
    • Strong oral, written, interpersonal and electronic communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external university constituencies.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Must have a valid driver's license.
    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or related field.
    • Knowledge of undergraduate admissions and recruitment process at a four-year university.
    • Demonstrated ability in working with diverse populations.
    • Extensive knowledge of university programs and offerings.
    • Knowledge of CRM tools, as well as the ability to utilize technology.
