ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.
The Voice, Video, Data Telecommunications Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining voice, data, audiovisual (AV), and video teleconferencing (VTC) telecommunications systems for the Department of Defense (DoD).

Telecommunications System Design:
Design and develop voice, data, AV, and VTC telecommunications systems tailored to the unique needs and requirements of DoD installations and facilities
Implementation and Integration:
Lead the implementation and integration of telecommunications systems, ensuring seamless interoperability with existing IT infrastructure and adherence to DoD security standards
Network Infrastructure Management:
Manage and maintain network infrastructure components including switches, routers, firewalls, and associated hardware to support reliable and secure telecommunications services
Audiovisual System Configuration:
Configure and optimize AV systems for conference rooms, briefing centers, and other collaborative spaces, including display devices, audio equipment, and control systems
Video Teleconferencing Support:
Provide technical support for VTC operations, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, coordinating VTC sessions, and conducting user training as needed
Security Compliance:
Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, for all telecommunications systems and infrastructure
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of telecommunications systems, configurations, and procedures, and provide regular status reports to management
Vendor Management:
Interface with telecommunications vendors and service providers to procure equipment, services, and technical support, ensuring cost-effective solutions that meet DoD requirements
Research and Innovation:
Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in telecommunications, AV, and VTC, and assess their potential impact on DoD operations and capabilities
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with specific expertise in voice, data, AV, and VTC systems.
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, architectures, and technologies, including IP networking, SIP, H.323, Passive Optical Networks (PON) and MPLS.Proficiency with telecommunications equipment and platforms from vendors such as Cisco, Avaya, Polycom, and Crestron.
Familiarity with DoD IT policies, directives, and security requirements, including DoD Instruction and NIST Special Publication Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors.Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD security clearance preferred.
BICSI RCDD Certification a plus.
